Matt and I have been married 22 years!
AND
We TRY to get away every year around the time of our anniversary.
Thankfully, this year it worked out -- 36 hours was all we could fit in BUT it was better than nothing!
We have always LOVED the Charlevoix area --
SO, this year we headed back-up to our favorite bed-and-breakfast --
If you are looking for a WONDERFUL place to stay -- The owners are wonderful; breakfast is great; rooms are clean; and it is so peaceful -- check this place out!
It is equal distance to Boyne City, Petosky and Charlevoix.
Honestly, this was an AMAZING time of relaxation and special time TOGETHER --
with NO interruptions!
This past year has been challenging for both Matt and I to find extra time for just the two of us. Both of our jobs have been EXTRA demanding and of course we do have FIVE active children and two with some extra needs.
We had a wonderful time TALKING and LISTENING to each other!!!
We had a picnic!
We walked and explored!

Asian Fusion -- We both had Curry; Mine actually tasted like CHINA!!! Thankfully, it was minus all of the chicken parts ;)
This was an AMAZING lunch!!! We usually don't order beef since we raise it BUT this was a spectacular.
We enjoyed some of God's art!
We had a BEAUTIFUL room!
With a gorgeous view -- flower gardens all around -- this view is right out our french door.

Yes, my husband also spoiled me a bit with some shopping -- I LOVE pottery!
All of those things were nice BUT the best part was just being with Matt. I love having time to just talk and catch-up on 'things!' We could talk about our concerns, hopes and dreams! We could walk at our speed, sit for as long as we wanted AND be quiet together!!!
I love this man and praise God he picked me to be his wife. He has an extremely calm spirit with lots of patience. He truly LOVES God! AND he is the very best father to our children.
Is everything perfect in our marriage?? Well, of course not! BUT oh, how we are trying to please GOD by doing our very best.
AND
weekends like this are helpful!
Of course, we realize all of this is impossible without some EXTRA help!!
We are so thankful that my parents took ALL 5 kids so that we could have a special weekend together!
The kids loved their time with Other Nanny and Pa!
