Today was a day to just relax. AND we did do that :) Thankfully, we were able to sleep in! We went down to breakfast around 9:15. WOW!!! The breakfast was unbelievable. The Chinese breakfasts have more than just breakfast foods. There was salads, dumplings, veggies, soup, teriyaki chicken, noodles and more. BUT there was also breakfast foods AND lots of choices. This is suppose to be the biggest meal of the day!
The hotel is in the background. We are on the walkway to go OVER the highway.
We went back to our rooms and each took a LONG shower -- And just felt better!! We decided to go for a walk 'around' the area of the hotel. There is a wonderful bakery -- mom, the Tiramisu cake is to die for!!! AND it only cost $1.20. I think I might get spoiled here :) There is a Starbucks -- I didn't even get anything. There are LOTS of little stores and 7 eleven's . We walked into the more residential area and went to the grocery store and that is where we found the oreos. We were so EXCITED!! Now the smells in the place were horrible. Yes, open fish. Although, we will probably go back as it is the cheapest we have seen things.
Some of the yummy desserts at the bakery right across the street. There are MANY of these all over.
All the Oreo's!
AND the disgusting FISH!!! In the same store!
Awesome Mountain Dew bottles!!!
We found a Subway to eat at and continued back to the hotel to eat. I did find some places I want to look more at but we have plenty of time for that. It was so humid we decided to just go back and eat. The Subway was just ok -- doesn't taste exactly like it does at home. I tried the cucumber LAYS. Pretty good! BUT the dessert was great!!!! AND so were the oreos.
Joel and Jason we thought you would LOVE this -- we saw it on the way back from Subway right by our hotel.
MD eating the Mango Oreo!
YUMMY!
At 4:00 pm we had a meeting with our adoption guide and everyone in our group. Oh, it is a fun group. There are 9 families that have children from this same province. 2 of us have adopted before -- both of us this is our 3rd time. BUT all of the others are newbies. AND 3 of them are total new parents. I love watching them. I'm so excited for them :) We talked lots with a family from Tampa -- they are adopting 2 as first time parents.
Our guide also visited Elizabeth two months ago. She gave us some information about her. The best information was that at that time Elizabeth KNEW that she was getting adopted and our guide talked with her about it. We also found out that she is calm and always smiley. The teachers -- yes, she goes to school -- say she is VERY good. Our guide loves her -- oh, that got me even more excited.
We went back to the room around 6:00 pm. We laid around a bit, actually I didn't feel well so I laid in bed. When it was time to look for dinner I still had a stomach ache. So, Matt and MD went out looking for dinner without me. They returned with food from one of my favorite places. I did eat and I felt a bit better. BUT I went to bed right after and had a really good sleep -- until 4:30 am. Which is why I'm blogging so early our time :)
